Ornaments range in size from 3"-3 1/2".

CC will make several ornaments. Each ornament uses approximately
1/4 ounce.
Crochet Hook: 5mm [US H-8].
Yarn needle; ribbon or thread for hanging.
GAUGE: 4 dc = 1". CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
STAR
With CA, ch 4; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 10 sc into ring; join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next sc,
2 sc in next sc; rep from * around; join – 15 sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc
in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next ch, skip next 2 sc **, sc
in next sc; rep from * around, end at **; join.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, * working into remaining loops of ch-5, sc in next
4 loops, ch 3, sc in next sc, sc in next hdc, sc in next dc, sc
in next tr; rep from * around; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
TREE
With CB, ch 4; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Row 1 (Wrong Side): Ch 3, 6 dc into ring; turn – 7 sts.
Rows 2, 4, 6 (Right Side): Ch 1, sc in back loop of each dc across
and top of ch-3; turn.
Rows 3, 5: Ch 3, dc in first sc, dc in each sc across to last sc;
2 dc in last sc; turn – 9 sts on Row 3; 11 sts on Row 5.
Row 7: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in each sc across; turn.
Row 8: * Ch 5, sc in next dc; rep from * across. Fasten off.
Ruffle Rows: With right side facing and ring nearest to you, attach
yarn in remaining front loop of first dc of Row 1. * Ch 5, sc in
next loop; rep from * across. Fasten off. Work in same manner in
remaining front loops on Rows 3 and 5. Weave in ends.
Sew back seam. With double strand of a contrast color, make a double
French knot at top of tree.
SNOWFLAKE
With CC, ch 5; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, [2 sc in ring, ch 3] 6 times; join with a sl st in
first sc – 6 ch-3 loops.
Rnd 2: Sl st in next sc, ch 1, [(2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc) all in ch-3
sp, ch 1] 6 times; join.
Rnd 3: Sl st in next sc, ch 1, [(sc, ch 3, sc, ch 5, sc, ch 3, sc)
all in ch-3 sp, ch 2] 6 times; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Snowflake Base: With color chosen ch 5; join with a sl st in first
ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4, [2 dc in ring, ch 1] 5 times, dc in ring; join with
a sl st in 3rd ch of ch-4 – 6 ch-1sps.
Rnd 2: (Sl st, ch 4, dc) all in first ch-1 sp, * dc in next 2 dc,
(dc, ch 1, dc) all in ch-1 sp; rep from * to last 2 sts; dc in next
dc, dc in same ch as joining of Rnd 1; join with a sl st in 3rd
ch of ch-4.
Rnd 3: (Sl st, ch 4, dc) all in first ch-1 sp, * dc in next 4 dc,
(dc, ch 1, dc) all in ch-1 sp; rep from * to last 4 sts; dc in next
3 dc, dc in same ch as joining of Rnd 2; join in 3rd ch of ch-4.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, * (sc, ch 1, sc) all in
ch-1 sp **, sc in next 6 dc; rep from * to last 5 dc, end at **;
sc in last 5 dc; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off. Weave
in ends. Attach snowflake to base.
