Lemon Yellow CC, and 1/2 ounce 7235 Light Pink CD
(OR 6 balls CA and 1 ball each CB, CC, and CD).

Crochet Hook: 4mm [US G-6].
Yarn needle, embroidery needle, 6-strand embroidery
floss: several yards each dark pink, blue and dark
gray.

GAUGE: 6 slanted shells = 4 1/8"; 15 rows = 4". CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION:
Sc2tog: Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sts, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

BLANKET: With CA, ch 152.
Row 1 (Right Side): (Sc, hdc, dc) all in 2nd ch from hook, * skip next 2 ch; (sc, hdc, dc) all in next ch –SS (slanted shell) made; rep from * to last 3 ch; skip next 2 ch, sc in last ch; turn – 50 SS.
Row 2: Ch 1, SS in first sc, * skip next 2 sts, SS in next sc; rep from * to last 3 sts; skip next 2 sts, sc in last sc; turn.
Rep Row 2 until 34 1/2" from beginning. Fasten off.

EDGING-Rnd 1: With right side facing, join CA and work sc evenly around entire outside edge, working 3 sc in each corner; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Rnd 82: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining and in each hdc around, working 3 sc in each tip and in point of nose; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing.
Using 12 strands of embroidery floss, backstitch smile in dark pink and eye and eyelashes in dark gray.

CHEEK: With CD, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 6 Sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with a sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around; join – 12 sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in each sc around; join with a sl st in top of ch-3 – 24 sts. Fasten off. Sew to Moon.

STAR (Make 6): With CC, ch 2.
Rnds 1-3: Rep Rnds 1-3 of Cheek; do not fasten off at end of Rnd 3.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining and in next 2 dc, 2 sc in next dc, * sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next dc; rep from * around; join – 30 sc.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in first sc, * (hdc, dc, tr) all in next sc, ch 2, (tr, dc, hdc) all in next sc, sc in next sc, sl st in each of next 2 sc **, sc in next sc; rep from * around, end at **; join. Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing.
Using 12 strands of embroidery floss, backstitch dark pink smile and embroider blue French knot eyes. Sew Stars in place as desired around Moon.
