Crochet Hook: 5mm [US H-8].
GAUGE: 17 dc = 4"; 13 rows = 4" in pattern. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
SPECIAL STITCHES: cluster: [Yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] 5 times all in same st, yarn over and draw through all 6 loops on hook.
picot: Ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook.
PROJECT NOTES: To change colors in sc: Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop, drop old color, pick up new color, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.
To change colors in dc: Yarn over, insert hook in next st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook, drop old color, pick up new color, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.
INSTRUCTIONS:
With CA, ch 154. Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 152 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each dc across and in top of ch-3; turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in each sc across, changing to CB in last st; turn.
Row 4: With CB, ch 1, sc in first 2 dc, * cluster in next dc, sc in each of next 2 dc; rep from * to last 3 sts; cluster in next dc, sc in next dc, sc in top of ch-3 changing to CA; turn.
Row 5: With CA, ch 3, skip first sc, dc in each st across; turn.
Rep Rows 2-5 for pattern until approximately 45" from beginning, end by working Row 3. Fasten off.
Border: With right side facing, attach CB with a sl st in any corner.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, work sc evenly around all 4 sides, working 4 sc in each corner and having an even number of sc along each side; join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 6, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, dc in same sc as joining, skip next sc, * (dc, picot, dc) all in next sc, skip next sc; rep from * around; join in 3rd ch of ch-6. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
