MODA DEA™"Gleam™": 10 Balls 3517 Blue Topaz
CA and TLC® Amoré™: 2 Skeins 3843 Seaglass CB.

Crochet Hook: 8mm [US L-11]. Yarn needle.

GAUGE: Finished square = 10" x 10". CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS:
Fpdtr (fptr) front post double treble (front post treble): [yo] 3 (2) times, insert hook from front to back to front around the post of the stitch indicated, yo and draw yarn through, [yo and draw yarn through 2 lps] 4 (3) times.

NOTES: Always leave the st behind a post st unworked. Hold yarn not being used on WS of work, catching the unused yarn every other stitch. Join and cut colors as required.

SQUARE (Make 24): With CB, ch 16.
Row 1 (RS): With CB sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 4 ch, with CA sc in next 2 ch, with CB sc in next 3 ch, with CA sc in last 5 ch; turn – 15 sts.
Rows 2, 10: With CA ch 1, sc in first 5 sc, with CB sc in next 3 sc, with CA sc in next 2 sc, with CB sc in next 5 sc changing to CA in last st; turn.
Rows 3, 11: With CA ch 1, sc in first 5 sc, with CB skip next 3 sts, [fpdtr around post of next st 2 rows below] twice, sc in next sc (see Note above), with CA working post sts in front of post sts just made, fpdtr around post of first skipped st 2 rows below, fpdtr around post of next skipped st 2 rows below, with CB sc in
last 5 sc; turn.
Rows 4, 12: With CB ch 1, sc in first 5 sc, with CA sc in next 2 sts, with CB sc in next 3 sts, with CA sc in last 5 sc; turn.
Rows 5, 13: With CA ch 1, sc in first 5 sc, with CB [fptr around post of st 2 rows below] twice, sc in next st, with CA [fptr around post of st 2 rows below] twice, with CB sc in last 5 sc; turn.
Row 6: Rep Row 4 changing to CB in last st.
Row 7: With CB ch 1, sc in first 5 sc, with CA skip next 3 sts, [fpdtr around post of next st 2 rows] twice, with CB sc in next st, working post sts in front of post sts just made fpdtr around post of first skipped st 2 rows below, fpdtr around post of next skipped st 2 rows
below, with CA sc in last 5 sc; turn.
Row 8: Rep Row 2 but do not change color in last st.
Row 9: With CB ch 1, sc in first 5 sc, with CA [fptr around post of st 2 rows below] twice, with CB sc in next sc, [fptr around post of st 2 rows below] twice, with CA sc in last 5 sc; turn. Fasten off at end of Row 13.

SQUARE BORDER-Rnd 1: With RS facing, attach CA at a corner; ch 1, work 15 sc across each side and work ch 1 in each corner; join with a sl st in first sc.
Fasten off.
Rnd 2: With RS facing, attach CB in any sc; ch 1, sc in each sc around and work (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-1 sps at corners; join – 17 sc across each side between corner sps.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc around and work (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sps at corners; join – 19 sc across each side between corner sps. Fasten off.

EDGING JOINING NOTES: (1) Join 4 squares by 6 squares alternating direction of cable. (2) Attach CA to corner ch-2 sp so that, when working Edging Rnd, the joining side(s) will be worked first, then nonjoined sides.
EDGING RND-First Square: Attach CA in any ch- 2 sp; ch 1, * (sc, ch 3, sc) all in corner sp, sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, [sc in next 3 sc, ch 3] 5 times, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
EDGING RND-Join On One Side: Attach CA in ch- 2 sp (see Notes 1 & 2 above); ch 1, sc in sp, ch 1, sl st in ch-3 corner sp of adjoining square, ch 1, sc in sp on square in progress, sc in next 2 sc, ch 1, sl st in next ch-3 sp of adjoining square, ch 1, [sc in next 3 sc, ch 1,
sl st in next ch-3 sp of adjoining square, ch 1] 5 times, sc in next 2 sc, sc in next corner sp, ch 1, sl st in ch-3 corner sp of adjoining square, ch 1, sc in sp on square in progress, * sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, [sc in next 3 sc, ch 3] 5 times, sc in next 2 sc **, (sc, ch 3, sc) all in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around, end at **; join. Fasten off.
EDGING RND-Join On Two Sides: Attach CA in ch-2 sp; ch 1, sc in sp, ch 1, sl st in ch-3 corner sp of adjoining square, ch 1, sc in sp on square in progress, * sc in next 2 sc, ch 1, sl st in next ch-3 sp of adjoining square, ch 1, [sc in next 3 sc, ch 1, sl st in next ch-3 sp of adjoining square, ch 1] 5 times, sc in next 2 sc, sc in next corner ch-2 sp, ch 1, sl st in ch-3 corner sp of adjoining square, ch 1, sc in sp on square in progress; rep from * once more; ** sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, [sc in next 3 sc, ch 3] 5 times, sc in next 2 sc ***, (sc, ch 3, sc) all in next ch-2 sp; rep from ** around, end at ***;
join. Fasten off.
Continue in this manner, joining on one or two sides as required, until all 24 squares are joined.

AFGHAN BORDER-Rnd 1: With RS facing, attach CA in top right ch-3 corner; ch 1, ** (2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc) all in corner sp, * [3 sc in next ch-3 sp] 6 times ***, [2 sc in joined corner ch-3 sp] twice; rep from * to next corner, end at ***; rep from ** around, end at ***; join.
Rnd 2: Sl st in next sc, sl st in ch-3 sp, ** (sc, ch 3, sc) all in corner ch-3 sp, sc in next 2 sc, * [ch 3, sc in next 3 sc] 6 times ***, [ch 3, sc in next 2 sc] twice; rep from * to next corner, end at ***; rep from ** around, end at ***; join. Fasten off.Weave in ends.
