Bag measures 4 1/2" wide x 6 1/2" high without
straps. Hat fits most women.

Crochet Hooks: 5.5mm [US I-9] for Bag and
6mm [US J-10] for Hat.

Yarn needle.

GAUGES: Bag: 14 sts = 4"; 13 rows = 4" in sc. Hat: 13 sts = 4"; 12 rows = 4" in sc with larger hook.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hooks to obtain the gauges.

Finished Hat Circumference: 18".

BAG
With smaller hook, ch 16.
Rnd 1 (Wrong Side): 2 Sc in 2nd ch from hook,
sc in next 13 ch, 3 sc in last ch, continue working
on opposite side of ch, sc in next 13 ch, sc in first
ch worked into; join with a sl st in first sc – 32 sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; do NOT join.
Now work in continuous rnds of sc without joining
until 5 1/2" from beg, end at a side edge; join with a
sl st to next sc.

Eyelet Border-Rnd 1: Ch 4, skip sc of joining
and next sc, * dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc; rep
from * around; join with a sl st in 3rd ch of ch-4.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, * (sc, ch 3, sc) all in ch-1 sp; rep from
* around; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off. Turn
right side out. Weave in ends.

Drawstring: With smaller hook, ch 55; sl st in 2nd
ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off.

Belt Loop: With smaller hook, ch 9.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch
across; turn. – 8 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn.
Rep Row 2 until 3" from beg. Fasten off.

Wrist Strap: With smaller hook, ch 4. Work same as
Belt Loop across 3 sc until 12" from beg. Fasten off.

FINISHING-Drawstring: Beg at center front, weave drawstring through Eyelet Rnd. Knot each end of drawstring.

Drawstring Stay: With smaller hook, ch 6. Work same as Belt Loop across 5 sc for 2 rows. Fasten off leaving long end to sew seam. Fold around drawstring ends and sew seam-you should be able to pull drawstrings through the Stay to close the bag or pull Stay down the drawstrings to open the bag.

Sew Belt Loop to back of bag below Eyelet Rnd. Sew ends of Wrist Strap to inside of bag at side edges below Eyelet Rnd.

With larger hook ch 4; join with a sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1 (Wrong Side): Ch 1, 8 sc in ring; join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, 2 sc in each sc around; join – 16 sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around; join – 24 sc.
Rnd 4: Rep Rnd 3 – 36 sc.
Rnds 5 and 7: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; join.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around; join – 48 sc.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in first 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around; join – 60 sc.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; do NOT join.

Continue in rnds of sc without joining until 10" from beg; join in next sc.

Eyelet Border-Rnd 1: Ch 4, skip sc of joining and next sc, * dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc; rep from * around; join with a sl st in 3rd ch of ch-4.
