Bag measures approximately 10" high by 12" wide, excluding strap.

MODA DEA™ “Cheri™”, Art. R125 (1.76 ounce/81 yard ball): 7 Balls No. 9532 Orchid.

Circular Knitting Needles: two 6.5mm [US 10.5] – 29”.
Crochet Hook: 5.5mm [US I-9].
Yarn needle, stitch markers.

GAUGE: 18 sts= 4”; 20 rows = 4” in St st. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

NOTE: Stole is made in one piece starting at lower back.


Cast on 74 sts. P 1 row.

Work in St st, beg K row, shaping as follows:
Cast on 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Inc 1 st at each end of next row.
P 1 row.
Rep last 4 rows until there are 194 sts, end P row.

Divide for Neck: K75, attach new ball of yarn and bind off center 44 sts, K75 including st on needle after bind-off. Mark first bound-off st and last bound-off st.

Working both sides at same time, P 1 row. Dec 1 st at each neck edge every K row 3 times – 72 sts each side.

Shape Fronts: Bind off 2 sts at each neck edge until 48 sts remain on each side, end by working a P row.

Shape Front Ties-Dec Row: * Sl 1, K2tog, psso; rep from * across – 16 sts. K every row until ties measure 11” from dec row when slightly stretched. Bind off all sts.


FINISHING: Neck Edge-

Row 1:
With right side facing and crochet hook, attach yarn just above dec row of right front tie; ch 1, work 24 sc evenly spaced from this row to first marker at bound-off sts of neck, work 20 sc evenly spaced across bound-off sts to next marker, work 24 sc evenly spaced from last marker to dec row of left front tie. Fasten off.

Row 2:
With right side facing, attach yarn in first sc of Row 1; ch 1, sc in each sc across. Fasten off.

Lower Edge: With right side facing and crochet hook, attach yarn just below dec row of left front tie; ch 1, work sc evenly around entire lower edge to dec row of right front tie. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
