MODA DEA™ “Cartwheel™”, Art. R132 (1.76 ounce/77
yard ball): 10 (11, 12, 13, 14) Balls No. 9605 Bronzeberry.

Knitting Needles: 4.5mm [US 7] and 5mm [US 8]
Circular Knitting Needle: 4.5mm [US 7] – 36”.
Stitch holder, stitch markers, yarn needle, 5 buttons,
sewing needle and thread.

GAUGE: 18 sts = 4”; 23 rows = 4” in Texture Pat with 5mm
needles. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles
to obtain the gauge.

To Fit Bust: 30-32 (34, 36-38, 40-44)”.
Finished Bust: 33 1/2 (36, 41, 46 1/2)”.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION:
MK = P3tog leaving sts on left-hand needle, now K them
tog, then P them tog again, and slip sts off the left needle.

TEXTURE PAT: Row 1 (RS): Knit. Rows 2, 4, 6: Purl.
Row 3: K3, * MK, K3; rep from * across. Row 5: Knit.
Row 7: MK, * K3, MK; rep from * across. Row 8: Purl.
Rep Rows 1-8 for Texture Pat.

BACK: With larger needles, cast on 75 (81, 93, 105) sts.
Work 6 rows in Texture Pat. Shape Sides: Keeping continuity
of pat, dec 1 st at each end of next row, then following
4th rows 3 times more – 67 (73, 85, 97) sts. Work
even until 4 1/2” from beg, end WS row. Inc 1 st each end
of next row, then following 8th rows 3 times more – 75
(81, 93, 105) sts. Work even until 12 (12, 12 1/2, 13)” from
beg, end WS row.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 5 (6, 8, 10) sts beg of next 2
rows. Dec 1 st each end of every RS row until 55 (57, 61,
65) sts rem. Work even until 7 1/2 (8, 9, 9 3/4)” above
bind-off, end WS row. Shape Shoulders: Bind off 6 (6,
6, 7) sts beg of next 2 rows, then 6 (6, 7, 7) sts beg of
next 2 rows. Put rem 31 (33, 35, 37) sts on a stitch holder.

LEFT FRONT: With larger needles, cast on 30 (33, 39,
45) sts. Row 1 (RS): Knit, placing a marker at end of
row. Row 2: Inc in first st, P to end. Row 3: [K3, MK] 7 (8,
9, 11) times, K1 (0, 2, 0), inc in next st, K1. Row 4: Rep
Row 2. Row 5: K to last 2 sts; inc in next st, K1. Row 6:
Purl. Texture Pat is now in position. Inc 1 st at front edge
as before on next 3 RS rows placing a marker on front
edge at last front increase, AT THE SAME TIME, shape
side by dec 1 st at side edge on next row then following
4th rows 3 times more – 33 (36, 42, 48) sts. Work even in
pat until 4 1/2” from beg, end WS row. Inc 1 st at side
edge of next row then following 8th rows 3 times more –
37 (40, 46, 52) sts. Work even until 12 (12, 12 1/2, 13)”
from beg, end WS row. Shape Armhole: Bind off 5 (6, 8,
10) sts beg next row. Work 1 row. Dec 1 st each at beg of
every RS row until 27 (28, 30, 32) sts rem. Work even
until 4 3/4 (5 1/4, 6 1/4, 7)” above bind-off, end RS row.
Shape Neck: Bind off 7 (8, 9, 10) sts at beg of next row.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 5 rows, then at same edge
on next 3 RS rows – 12 (12, 13, 14) sts. Work even until
same as Back to shoulder, end WS row. Shape
Shoulder: Bind off 6 (6, 6, 7) sts at beg of next row.
Work 1 row. Bind off rem 6 (6, 7, 7) sts.

RIGHT FRONT: With larger needles, cast on 30 (33, 39,
45) sts. Row 1 (RS): Knit, placing a marker at beg of
row. Row 2: P to last 2 sts, inc in next st, P1. Row 3: Inc
in first st, K2 (1, 3, 1), [MK, K3] 7 (8, 9, 11) times. Row 4:
Rep Row 2. Row 5: Inc in first st, K to end. Row 6: Purl.
Texture Pat is now in position. Complete to correspond
to Left Front, reversing all shapings.

SLEEVES: With smaller needles, cast on 40 (40, 46, 46)
sts. K 9 rows, inc 5 sts evenly across last row – 45 (45, 51,
51) sts. Change to larger needles and Texture Pat, shaping
sides by inc 1 st each end of 7th row, then every 10
(10, 10, 8)th row 2 (8, 5, 7) times, then every 12 (0, 12,
10)th row 4 (0, 2, 2) times – 59 (63, 67, 71) sts. Work
even until 18 1/2” from beg, end WS row. Shape Cap:
Bind off 2 (3, 4, 5) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each
end of every RS until 33 (33, 29, 29) sts rem, then dec
every row until 11 sts rem. Bind off.

FINISHING-Neckband: Sew shoulder and side seams.
With RS facing and smaller needles, pick up and K22 (23,
25, 27) sts up right neck, K31 (33, 35, 37) from back
holder dec 2 sts, pick up and K22 (23, 25, 27) sts down
left neck – 73 (77, 83, 89) sts. K 8 rows. Bind off.
Edging: With RS facing and circular needle, beg at top
left corner of neckband, pick up and K61 (65, 69, 73) sts
down left front to first marker, pick up and K25 sts to next
marker, pick up and K27 (29, 35, 40) sts to side seam,
pick up and K73 (79, 91, 101) sts across back to side
seam, pick up and K27 (29, 35, 40) sts to first right front
marker, pick up and K25 sts to next marker, pick up and
K61 (65, 69, 73) sts up right front to top of neckband –
299 (317, 349, 377) sts. Do not join. Work back and forth
in rows and K 3 rows. Buttonhole Row (RS): K to last
61 (65, 69, 73) sts, [bind off 2 sts, K12 (13, 14, 15) (including
st on needle after bind off)] 4 times, bind off 2 sts, K
to end – 5 buttonholes. Next Row: Knit, casting on 2
sts over bound off sts. K 3 rows. Bind off. Sew sleeve
seams. Set in sleeves. Sew buttons in position.
