RED HEART® "Super Saver®", E300 (7 ounce/364
yard skein): 1 Skein No. 312 Black CA.

Knitting Needles-Hat: 4.5mm [US 7], 5mm [US 8].
Knitting Needles-Scarf: 10mm [US 15].
Yarn needle.

GAUGE: 15 sts = 4"; 18 rows = 4" in St st. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

Hat Circumference: 20".
Scarf: 5" wide x 66" long.


HAT
With 4.5mm needles and one strand each CA and CB
held together as one, cast on 77 sts.

Work in ribbing as follows:
Row 1 (Right Side): * K2, P2; rep from * to last st; K1.

Row 2: P1, * K2, P2; rep from * across.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for 1".

Shape Crown: Drop CB, change to 5mm needles and
work in St st with CA only, beg K row, until 6" from beg,
end by working a P row.

Shape Top: [K2tog, K15, sl 1, K1, psso] 4 times, K1 – 69 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: [K2tog, K13, sl 1, K1, psso] 4 times, K1 – 61 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: [K2tog, K11, sl 1, K1, psso] 4 times, K1 – 53 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: [K2tog, K9, sl 1, K1, psso] 4 times, K1 – 45 sts.
P 1 row.

Rep Rows 1 through 8 until 66" from beg. Bind off.
