yard ball): 4 (5, 6, 7) Balls No. 3670 Valley Green.

Knitting Needles: 8mm [US-11].
Yarn needle, stitch holder.

GAUGE: 11 sts = 4"; 18 rows = 4" in St st. CHECK
YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain
the gauge.




To Fit Bust: 30-32 (34-36, 38-40)".
Finished Bust Measurement: 34 (38 1/2, 43)".

BACK: Cast on 39 (45, 51) sts. Work in St st, beg K
row, and work 6 rows.
Shape Bust: Inc 1 st each end of next row, then
every 6th row 3 more times – 47 (53, 59) sts.
Work even until 8 (8 1/2, 9)" from beg, end by working
a P row.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2
rows – 41 (47, 53) sts. Dec 1 st each end of every row
twice – 37 (43, 49) sts.
Work even until armholes measure 6 (7, 8)" above
bind-off, end by working a P row.
Shape Neck/Shoulders: K 13 (15, 17) sts, attach
new ball of yarn, K across center 11 (13, 15) sts and
place them on a holder, K to end.
Working on both sides at the same time, dec 1 st at
each neck edge every row twice – 11 (13, 15) sts each
side.
Work even until armholes measure 7 (8, 9)" above
bind-off. Bind off all sts for shoulders.

FRONT: Work same as back until armholes measure
5 (5 1/2, 6)" above bind-off, end by working a P row.
Shape Neck/Shoulders: K13 (15, 17) sts, attach
new ball of yarn, bind off center 11 (13, 15) sts, K to end.
Working on both sides at the same time, dec 1 st at
each neck edge every row twice – 11 (13, 15) sts each
side.
Work even until armholes measure same as back to
shoulder. Bind off all sts.

SLEEVES: Cast on 21 (22, 23) sts. Work in St st, beg
K row, shaping sides by inc 1 st each end of 5th row,
then every 4th row 8 (9, 10) times – 39 (42, 45) sts.
Work even until 16 (17, 18)" from beg, end by working
a P row.
Shape Cap: Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows – 33
(36, 39) sts. Dec 1 st each end of every row twice –
29 (32, 35) sts. Bind off 4 (5, 5) sts at beg of next 4
rows – 13 (12, 15) sts. Bind off.

FINISHING-Turtleneck: Sew left shoulder seam.
With right side facing, pick up and K5 sts down right
back neck, K11 (13, 15) sts from back holder, pick up
and K5 sts up left back neck, 11 sts down left front
neck, 12 (14, 16) sts across front, and 11 sts up right
front neck – 55 (59, 63) sts.

Work in ribbing as follows:
Row 1 (Right Side): K1, * P1, K1; rep from * across.
Row 2: P1, * K1, P1; rep from * across.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for ribbing until 7" from beg, end by
working Row 1.
Next Row: Work in rib and at the same time inc 1 st
in approximately every 3rd st across. Bind off all sts
loosely in rib.
Sew Turtleneck seam, reversing for turnback. Sew
right shoulder seam. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew
sleeves into armholes.
