Knitting Needles: 5.5mm [US 9] and 6.5mm [US 10.5].
Stitch holder; safety pin; 2 stitch markers; yarn needle; several yards of matching smooth yarn for seams.

GAUGE: 14 sts = 4"; 20 rows = 4" in St st on larger needles. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION:

BACK: ** With smaller needles and CA, cast on 59 (63, 67, 71, 73) sts. Knit 3 rows. Change to larger needles and Rev St st, beg P row, for 4 rows.

Shape Waist: Dec 1 st each end of row on next and following 8th rows twice more – 53 (57, 61, 65, 67) sts.
Work even in Rev St st until 6 (6, 6, 6 1/2, 6 1/2)" from beg, end K row.

Shape Bust: Inc 1 st each end of row on next and following 10th rows twice more – 59 (63, 67, 71, 73) sts. **
Work even until 12 1/2 (12 1/2, 12 1/2, 13, 13)" from beg, end K row.

Shape Armholes: Bind off 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end of every P row 4 (4, 5, 5, 5) times – 43 (45, 47, 49, 51) sts.
Work even until 5 (5 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, 7)" above bind-off, end K row.

Shape Back Neck/Shoulder: P9 (10, 10, 11, 12); turn and put rem sts on a holder. Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 2 rows, then on every P row 3 times – 4 (5, 5, 6, 7) sts. Work 1 row even. Bind off rem sts.

With right side facing, leave center 25 (25, 27, 27, 27) sts on holder, join CA to rem sts and complete to correspond to first side, reversing shapings.

FRONT: Work from ** to ** same as for Back.
Work even until 4 rows less than Back to beg of armhole shaping, end K row.
Divide for Front Neck: P29 (31, 33, 35, 36); turn and put rem sts on a holder. Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 2 rows – 27 (29, 31, 33, 34) sts. Work 1 row even.

Shape Armhole/Neck: Bind off 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) sts, P to last 2 sts, P2tog. Knit 1 row. Dec 1 st at each end of every P row 4 (4, 5, 5, 5) times more – 14 (15, 15, 16, 17) sts. Dec 1 st at neck edge only every P row until 6 (7, 7, 9, 10) sts rem, then every 4th row until 4 (5, 5, 6, 7) sts rem.
Work even until armhole measures same as Back to shoulder, end K row. Bind off.

With right side facing, slip center st onto a safety pin; join CA to rem sts and complete to correspond to first side, reversing shapings.

SLEEVES: With smaller needles and CA, cast on 49 (51, 53, 55, 57) sts. Knit 3 rows.

Shape Cap: Change to larger needles and Rev St st, beg P row, and bind off 2 (2, 3, 3, 3) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end of every P row until 21 (19, 17, 15, 15) sts rem, then every row until 7 (7, 7, 9, 9) sts rem. Bind off.

FINISHING: Sew right shoulder seam.
Neckband: With right side facing, CA and smaller needles, pick up and K32 (34, 36, 38, 40) sts down left front neck edge to V, place marker, K center st, place marker, pick up and K32 (34, 36, 38, 40) sts up right front neck edge and 8 sts down right back neck edge, K25 (25, 27, 27, 27) from back st holder dec 3 sts evenly across, pick up and K8 sts up left back neck edge – 103 (107, 113, 117, 121) sts.
Next Row: With CB, Purl working P2tog at either side of center st.
Next Row: With CC, * KW3; rep from * to end.
Next Row: With CB, Purl dropping extra loops and working P2tog at either side of center st – 99 (103, 109, 113, 117) sts.
Next Row: With CA, [K5, K2tog] 13 (14, 15, 16, 16) times, K8 (5, 4, 1, 5) – 86 (89, 94, 97, 101) sts.
Next 2 Rows: Knit, working K2tog at either side of center st.
Bind off knitways.
Sew left shoulder and neckband seam. Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
