GAUGE: 12 sts = 4"; 7 rnds = 4" in pat
with larger hook. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to
obtain the gauge.
Poncho is worked from the neck down. Beads are attached on a ribbon
in groups. Our 36" ribbon had 128 groups of beads. Tack ends
of ribbon together.
Rnd 1: With smaller hook, make a slip knot on
your hook, working over the ribbon; ch 1, work one sc between each
group of beads around; join with a sl st to the first sc –
128 sc.
Rnds 2 and 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; join.
Change to larger hook.
Rnd 4: Ch 4, skip next sc, * dc in next sc, ch
1, skip next sc; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-4.
Rnds 5-14: Sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 4, * dc in
next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-4.
Rnd 15: Sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 5, * dc in next
ch-1 sp, ch 2; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-5.
Rnds 16-21: Sl st in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, * dc
in next ch-2 sp, ch 2; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-5.
Rnd 22: Sl st in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, * 2 sc in
ch-2 sp, ch 2; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
Fringe: Cut 12" lengths of yarn. Fold 2 strands
in half to form a loop, insert hook from the wrong side into any
ch-2 sp on lower edge; draw the loop through the sp, draw the yarn
ends through the loop and tighten. Rep in every other sp around.
Trim.
