MODA DEA™ "Kickx", Art. R102 (1.76 ounce/68 yard ball): 2 Balls No. 3620 Swish CA.

TLC® "Amoré™", Art. E515 (6 ounce/278 yard skein): 4 Skeins No. 3625 Celery CB.

Straight Knitting Needles: 9mm [US 13]
Circular Knitting Needles: 9mm [US 13] – 29"; 6mm [US 10] – 16".

Crochet Hook: 6.5mm [US K-10.5].
Stitch marker; yarn needle.

GAUGE: 10 sts = 4"; 12 rows = 4" in St st with larger needles holding 2 strands of CB together as one. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUE:
Three needle bind-off: Hold 2 needles with right sides of fabric together; using 3rd needle, * insert needle knitwise into first st on front needle AND first st on back needle, yo and draw yarn through both sts at once; sl both sts off each needle; rep from * once more – 2 sts on right (3rd) needle; slip first st on right needle over 2nd st; rep from * until all sts are bound off.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION:
M1 (Make 1 st): Lift strand between last st worked and first st on left needle onto left needle and K into the back of it.


HOOD-Border:
With larger straight needle and holding one strand each CA and CB together as one, cast on 66 sts. Work in St st, beg K row, for 3", end P row. Cut CA. Join another strand of CB.

With 2 strands CB, work even in St st until 7" from cast-on edge, end K row.

Next Row: P33, place marker on needle, P33.

Next Row: K to 2 sts before marker, sl 1, K1, psso, sl marker, K2tog, K to end of row – 64 sts.

Next Row: P, slipping marker.

Rep last 2 rows 3 times more – 58 sts. Divide sts onto 2 needles and work 3 needle bind-off.

Edging: With right side facing and crochet hook, attach one strand each CA and CB at cast-on edge; ch 1, sc in each st across cast-on edge. Fasten off.


PONCHO-Neck: With right side facing and smaller circular needle, attach 2 strands CB at left front edge of hood; pick up and K44 sts around bottom edge of hood; join to work in the round. K 22 and place marker on needle to mark beg/end of rnds at center back. Sl marker every rnd. K 5 rounds.

Next Rnd: * K2, M1; rep from * around – 66 sts.

Change to larger circular needle and work even in St st for 2 1/2".

Next Rnd: * K2, M1; rep from * around – 99 sts.

Work even in St st for 2 1/2".

Next Rnd: * K2, M1; rep from * to last st, K1 – 148 sts.

Work even in St st until poncho measures 22" from pick-up sts at neck. Cut one strand CB. Join one strand CA.

Lower Border: With one strand each CA and CB held together as one, work even for 3". Bind off loosely.

With right side facing and crochet hook, attach one strand each CA and CB in any st; ch 1, sc in each st around; join with a sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Weave in yarn ends.
