Sweater directions are for size 6 months. Changes for sizes 1, 2, 3, and 4 years are in parentheses. Hat directions are for size Small. Changes for Medium and Large follow in parentheses.

TLC® "Essentials™", Art. E514 (6 ounce/326 yard skein): 3 1/4 (3 1/2, 3 3/4, 4, 4 1/2) Ounces No. 2101 White MC.

MODA DEA™ "Espree", Art. R106 (1.76 ounce/90 yard ball): 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) balls No. 2251 Pinks CC.

Knitting Needles: 5mm [US 8].
Yarn needle; stitch markers; stitch holder.

GAUGE: 15 sts = 4"; 28 rows = 4" in pat. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

To Fit Chest: 16 (18, 20, 22, 24, 26)".
Finished Chest: 22 (24, 26, 27, 28)".
Hat Circumference: 16 (17, 18)".

SWEATER
BACK: With MC, cast on 41 (45, 49, 51, 53) sts.
** [K 1 row, P 1 row] twice – 4 rows of St st.
Eyelet Row: K 1, * yo, K2tog; rep from * across.
Next Row: Purl. **

Now work in pat as follows:
Rows 1-4: With CC, Knit.
Row 5: With MC, K1, * yo, K2tog; rep from * across.
Row 6: Purl.
Rep Rows 1-6 for pat until 10 (11, 12, 13, 14)" above first pat Row 1. (Do not count beg rolled edge in measurement). Bind off, marking center 17 (19, 19, 21, 21) sts for back neck.

FRONT: Work same as back until 8 1/2 (9 1/2, 10 1/2, 11 1/2, 12 1/2)" above first pat Row 1.

Divide for Neck: Keeping continuity of pat, work across first 12 (13, 15, 15, 16) sts, place center 17 (19, 19, 21, 21) sts on a holder, attach another ball of yarn and work across rem 12 (13, 15, 15, 16) sts. Work even in pat over these sts until front measures same as back. Bind off.

SLEEVES: With MC, cast on 25 (27, 27, 29, 29) sts. Work same as back from ** to **, then work in pat same as back, shaping sides by inc 1 st each end of next row, then every 6 (6, 4, 4, 4)th row until there are 37 (41, 45, 49, 53) sts. Work even until 6 (7, 8, 9, 10)" above first pat Row 1. Bind off.

FINISHING-Neckband: Sew left shoulder seam. With right side facing and MC, pick up and K16 (18, 18, 20, 20) sts across back neck, 9 sts down left neck edge, K17 (19, 19, 21, 21) sts across front holder, pick up and K9 sts up right neck edge – 51 (55, 55, 59, 59) sts. P 1 row. Work Eyelet Row. Work in St st, beg P row, for 5 rows, end P row. Bind off loosely in K.

Sew right shoulder and neckband seam. Mark 5 (5 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, 7)" down from shoulder seams on back and front. Place center of sleeve top at shoulder seam and sew in place between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.

HAT
With MC, cast on 59 (63, 67) sts. Work same as Sweater back from ** to **. Now work in pat same as Sweater back until 4 (4 1/2, 5)" above first pat Row 1, end pat Row 6. Keeping continuity of pat, shape crown as follows:
Next Row: With CC, * K2, K2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts; K3 – 45 (48, 51) sts. K 1 row even.
Next Row: With CC, * K1, K2tog; rep from * across – 30 (32, 34) sts. K 1 row even.
Next Row: With MC, K1, * yo, K2tog; rep from * to last st; K1 – 30 (32, 34) sts. P 1 row even.
Next Row: With CC, * K2tog; rep from * across – 15 (16, 17) sts. K 1 row even.
Next Row: With CC, * K2 tog; rep from * to last 1 (0, 1) st; K 1 (0, 1) – 8 (8, 9) sts. K 1 row even. Cut CC.
Next Row: With MC, * K2tog; rep from * to last 0 (0, 1) st, K0 (0, 1) – 4 (4, 5) sts. P 1 row even. Cut MC, leaving a long yarn end. Weave yarn through rem sts, gather tightly, and fasten securely. Sew back seam.
