GAUGE: 14 sts = 4"; 20 rows = 4" in
St st and CB with larger needles. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use
any size needles to obtain the gauge.
To Fit Bust: 29-31 (33-35, 37-39)". Finished Bust Measurement: 32 (35 1/2, 39)".
BACK: ** With smaller needles and CA,
cast on 74 (82, 90) sts. Marking the first row as the right side,
work in K1, P1 ribbing for 7 1/2 (8, 8 1/2)", end right side
row.
Change to larger needles and CB and work in St
st, beg K row, for 5 1/2 (6, 6 1/2)", end P row.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 3 sts at beg of next
2 rows – 50 (56, 62) sts. Next Row: K2, sl 1, K1, psso, K to last 4 sts;
K2tog, K2 – 48 (54, 60) sts. P 1 row.
Rep last two rows twice more – 44 (50, 56) sts. Work even
until 21 1/2 (23 1/2, 24 1/2)" from beg, end P row.
Divide for Back Neck: K15 (17, 19), turn
and put rem sts on a holder.
Bind off 3 sts, P to end – 12 (14, 16) sts. K 1 row.
Bind off 2 sts, P to end. K 1 row.
Rep last 2 rows once more – 8 (10, 12) sts. Work 3 rows even.
Bind off.
With right side facing, attach CB to sts on holder,
bind off center 14 (16, 18) sts, K to end – 15 (17, 19) sts.
P 1 row.
Bind off 3 sts, K to end – 12 (14, 16) sts. P 1 row.
Bind off 2 sts, K to end. P 1 row.

FRONT: Work same as back from ** to **.
Change to larger needles and CB and work in St
st, beg K row, for 4 (4 1/2, 5)", end P row.
Divide for V-Neck: K26 (29, 32), K2tog, turn
and put rem sts on a holder. Dec 1 st at neck edge every 3 rows
13 (14, 15) more times, AND AT THE SAME TIME when front measures
same as back to armholes, shape armhole by binding off 3 sts at
arm edge once, then dec 1 st at same edge in same manner as on back
3 times – 8 (10, 12) sts. Work even until front measures same
as back to shoulder, end P row. Bind off.
With right side facing, attach CB to rem sts,
sl 1, K1, psso, K 26 (29, 32). Complete to correspond to first side,
reversing shapings.
FINISHING-Neckband: Sew right shoulder seam. With
right side facing, smaller needles and CA, pick
up and K46 (52, 52) sts down left front, place marker on needle,
insert left needle under strand at center "V" and K into
the back of it, place marker on needle, pick up and K46 (52, 52)
sts up right front, 11 sts down right back, 14 (16, 18) sts across
back, 11 sts up left back – 129 (143, 145) sts. Work in ribbing
as follows:
Row 1 (Wrong Side): * P1, K1; rep from * to 2
sts before marker; P2tog, P1, P2tog tbl, ** K1, P1; rep from **
to end.
Row 2: K1, * P1, K1; rep from * to 2 sts before
marker; P2tog, K1, P2tog tbl, K1, ** P1, K1; rep from ** to end.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 six more times, then rep Row
1 once more – 99 (113, 115) sts. Bind off in ribbing, dec
as before.
Sew rem shoulder and neckband seam.
Armbands: With right side facing, smaller needles
and CA, pick up and K88 (98, 98) sts. Work in K1,
P1 ribbing for 5 rows dec 1 st each end of every wrong side row
– 82 (92, 92) sts. Bind off in ribbing.
