Scarf measures approximately 5" wide x 61 1/2" long. Hat fits most women.

MODA DEA™ "Floral", Art. R104 (1.76 ounce/71 yard ball): Scarf: 1 Ball each No. 9100 White CA, No. 9368 Tan CB, and No. 9639 Sage CC. Hat: 1 Ball each No. 9100 White CA and No. 9368 Tan CB, 2 Balls No. 9639 Sage CC.

Knitting Needles: 8mm [US 11] for scarf; 5mm [US 8] for hat.
Yarn needle; stitch marker.

GAUGES: 10 sts = 4"; 19 rows = 4" in ridge pattern with larger needles for scarf. 17 sts = 4"; 24 rows = 4" in St st with smaller needles for hat. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauges.

Hat Circumference: 18 1/2".

SCARF

With CA and larger needles for scarf, cast on 154 sts. Work in Ridge pat as follows:

Row 1: With CA, K.

Row 2: With CA, P.

Row 3: With CA, K2, * P2, K2; rep from * across.

Row 4: With CA, rep Row 1.

Rows 5, 6, 7, and 8: With CC, rep Rows 2 and 3, then rep Rows 1 and 2.

Rows 9, 10, 11, and 12: With CB, rep Row 3, then rep Rows 1, 2, and 3.

Rep Rows 1-12 once more. Bind off with CB. Weave in ends.

HAT

Brim: With CC and smaller needles for hat, cast on 78 sts. Work in ribbing as follows:

Row 1 (Right Side): K2, * P2, K2; rep from * across.

Row 2: P2, * K2, P2; rep from * across.

Rep Rows 1 and 2 for 3". Change to CB and work in ribbing for 9 rows, then change to CA and continue in ribbing for 7 more rows.

Change to St st, beg K row, and work in the following stripe pat: 12 rows CB, 12 rows CC, 12 rows CA.

Shape Crown: With CC, dec for crown as follows:

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K17] 4 times, K1 – 74 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K7] 8 times, K1 – 66 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K6] 8 times, K1 – 58 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K5] 8 times, K1 – 50 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K4] 8 times, K1 – 42 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K3] 8 times, K1 – 34 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K2] 8 times, K1 – 26 sts.
P 1 row.

Next Row: K1, [sl 1, K1, psso, K1] 8 times, K1 – 18 sts.

Next Row: [P2tog] 9 times – 9 sts. Cut yarn leaving a long end. Weave yarn through rem sts twice; draw up tightly; fasten securely. Sew back seam, reversing for brim. Weave in ends.
